U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) has expressed satisfaction with the recent approval of the national security supplemental funding. The bill passed by a significant vote margin of 79-18, prompting Senator Romney to release a statement highlighting the importance of the funding allocation.

In his statement, Senator Romney emphasized the significance of the approved funding for various regions and entities, stating, "After months of needless delay, Congress has finally approved much-needed funding for Ukraine, Israel, Taiwan, and the U.S. military’s operations in these key regions." He reiterated his support for the legislation, drawing parallels to his previous vote in February, noting, "I again voted for this legislation because it is very much in America’s interests to support our friends and allies in the face of threats from Russia, China, and Iran."

Furthermore, Senator Romney pointed out that the funding not only benefits the recipient countries but also bolsters the readiness of the U.S. military. He stated, "The funding in this bill not only provides critical security assistance and weapons to Ukraine, Taiwan, and Israel, but it also supports our own military readiness." Highlighting specific areas of support, he added, "It replenishes our weapons stockpiles, supports our defense industrial base, and provides significant funding for U.S. Navy submarine and shipbuilding programs at a time when China is dramatically increasing its naval fleet."

In closing, Senator Romney emphasized the importance of alliances and friendships in maintaining America's strength, stating, "America remains strong because of our friendships and alliances, and passage of this aid package honors our commitments to our friends."

Senator Romney's support for the national security supplemental funding underscores the bipartisan effort to address security challenges and uphold commitments to allies and partners.
